Originally from Florida, Katherine Pedrick has lived in the DC area for the past two years and
recently earned her Master’s degree in Art Therapy from The George Washington University. She has seen the powerful impact of art therapy and creative expression through her work at Miriam’s Kitchen, Whitman Walker Health, and Children’s National Hospital with a range of ages. Her experience extends internationally through volunteer work at an educational nonprofit organization in Huaraz, Peru, with refugee youth in Florence, Italy, and
community workshops in Osijek, Croatia. She also spent two years working in School Programs
at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, facilitating accessible and engaging
educational programs for youth in the DMV. Katherine uses a strengths-based and trauma-
informed approach, and believes in the power of art making and self-expression to give voice to
underrepresented communities, for individual growth, and social change.
