Program Manager, Studio Program
Shanay Miles is an enthusiastic professional in the digital media world. Her experience includes employment as an audio-visual specialist with government agencies including the National Archives & Records Administration and the US Capitol; as head of the media team at Bethel Christian Fellowship; and work with companies such as GNI International to produce a docu-series and wedding videography companies like ArtsGroup and Nischan Productions.
Shanay’s passion for the arts started one summer as a kid when she discovered an old karaoke machine that had a video camera attached to it. Each day she would use the karaoke machine to record herself or her sister dancing, reciting lines from a script, or just goofing off. About art-making, Albert Hammond Jr., a guitarist, said it best: “Little moments of excitement shape the sound of a record. You don’t have anything, and then you start to have little parts that give you the energy to move forward because you start to see something.” Shanay’s hope as a teaching artist with Project Create is to pass on her excitement for her craft and ignite the flame that was ignited in her as a child.
